Learning The Basic Principle In Lighting Design

In this course, tutors will explain the basic principles of lighting design taken from the book written by Mark Kalen published by Wiley entitled Lighting Design Basics; second, the book written by Christopher Cuttle published by Routledge entitled A Perception-Based Approach; and third, the book entitled In Praise Of Shadow written by Junichiro Tanizaki. These three books will be the introduction of the course. The second presentation will be 4 part of understanding artificial light. It is about knowing fundamental of lighting design, from shape to its atmospheric result. This session followed with a workshop of designing an artificial lighting’s scheme within various context, especially in retail space. The tuition fee is IDR 200.000,-. You will get design kit and other facilities for the course purpose including seminar book.

About the lecturer
Thomas Agung Jonathan as a design principal of Artmosphere Lighting design firm. He has 10 years experience as a professional designer. He is graduated from Universitas Trisakti as a bachelor of architecture, then got his exchange in Diplom-Ingenieur of Architecture from Technische Universitat Darmstadt, Germany. He pursued his master degree in Hochschule Wismar, Germany and got his Master of Architectural Lighting Design. He was previously worked on Lighting Images, Singapore from 2007 until 2009 and Concept Technologies, Indonesia from 2006 until 2007.
