Learning From The Master #28 – Thomas Heatherwick

Hi Restless Spirit!

After last week discussion about of Terunobu Fujimori by Munna Dwi and Shabrina Putri, we will gather for another discussion at OMAH Library this Saturday to learn about Thomas Heatherwick. The London-based 3D designer well known for his inventive design.

Thomas Heatherwick is an London-based 3d Designer. Dubbed by many as contemporary Da Vinci due to his inventiveness, he has built dozens of infrastrucures and installation. His work can be seen as symbolic, that always stunning in its first impresson. Defying the conventional classification of design disciplines, Thomas founded Heatherwick studio in 1994 to bring the practices of design, architecture and urban planning together in a single workspace.

His work ranged from design product, urban installation, transporation, to full scale buildings. One of his notable work such as UK Pavilion for the Shanghai World Expo in 2010.

We will discuss Thomas’s work, his approach, while on the big picture, the significance of integration between architecture and other work of art such as sculpture.
