In this course, Thomas will explain the basic principles of lighting design taken from the book written by Mark Kalen published by Wiley entitled Lighting Design Basics; second, the book written by Christopher Cuttle published by Routledge entitled A Perception-Based Approach; and third, the book entitled In Praise Of Shadow written by Junichiro Tanizaki. These three books will be the introduction of the course. The second presentation will be 4 part of understanding artificial light. It is about knowing fundamental of lighting design, from shape to its atmospheric result. This session followed with a workshop of designing an artificial lighting’s scheme within various context, especially in retail space.
After the basic lighting, Hadi Komara will share his valuable design experience from scratch experience to his current position as principal of lighting design company.

9.00 – 10.00 Introduction to Lighting Design; Learning from Junichiro Tanizaki and Basic of Lighting Designing & practice by Thomas Agung Jonathan and Team
11.00 – 12.00 Sharing experience by Hadi Komara

Session 2
12.00 – 12.30 Lunch Break
12.30 – 15.00 Sharing experience and workshop by Thomas Agung Jonathan and Team
15.00 – 18.00 Review and personal Approach of light designing with Thomas Agung Jonathan

The tuition fee is IDR 200.000,-. You will get design kit and other facilities for the course purpose including seminar book.
