Architecture Pilgrimage Trip – Friedrich Silaban

Dear, Restless Spirits!

OMAH Library is going to have an outing to Friedrich Silaban’s House on next April. Alongside with a tour around the project, we will have a discussion on the newly-published book “Silaban” by Setiadi Sopandi. We will trace who Silaban is, through a deeper look on how Silaban established his own house. The tour will be guided by Setiadi Sopandi, architect and prominent architecture historian.

Silaban was an architect of early Indonesian modern generation. He had never learned formally in an architecture school. However through his persistence, he turned to be Soekarno’s favorite architect. For Masjid Istiqlal, he received Tanda Kehormatan Bintang Jasa Sipil Award. His other projects include BNI building and Gedung Pola. Indonesian Architect Board (Ikatan Arsitek indonesia/IAI) was partly initiated by him.

We invite you all to take part on this amazing trip by filling out the form below.
