Exhibition #1 – Titik Awal

We gladly invite you, our Restless Spirits to Titik Awal Exhibition

The first exhibition curated by OMAH Library and supported by our volunteers. An exhibition of the final projects of undergraduate and graduate study of 18 Indonesian architecture practitioners and scholars. The event will last for about a month, beginning on Sunday, January 22nd, 2017.

Becoming a successful architect is never easy. Behind each maturity in architectural practice, there is a process taking up such a long time. During the process, every architect must have undergone these three phases:
1. Expedient (the forming),
2. Alchemy (the relationship), and
3. Experiment.

In this exhibition, we would like to re-explore the process by displaying a part of these long – and might be the endless journey. Although meeting varied opportunities and experiences, yet all of these names start on the same phase: their school’s final projects.

The Final project is a particular assignment owned by no other than the doers themselves. In a way, it acts as a conclusive chapter of formal architectural education while at the same time represents a new one: the starting point to be a practicing architect.

Each project in this exhibition aims to depict how these architects once saw architecture on the zero point of their practicing careers.
