Journey through Practice and Research Studio

Andre took his bachelor degree at Gerald D Hines College of Architecture – University of Houston. in the last year of his studies, he got Provost’s Undergraduate Research Scholarship Award during spring season and joined Grant recipient for Gerald D.Hines internship at EMBT office.

After he graduated, he received his master degree at University of California at Los Angeles under the tutelage of Pritzker-Prize laureate architect Thom Mayne. During this time, he also assisted in NOW Institute Research Team.

He started his experiences work at MRearte Studio – Houston, TX involved in all stages. He also went to Barcelona, Spain EMBT Architects as intern architect for the Fudan University Complex in Shanghai, China, Pavilion for Astana Expo 2017 and Shenzhen Antuozhan Park Competition 2013.

He then joined NOW Institute as Researcher in 2014 and ultimately, joined Morphosis Architects as intern architect – Los Angeles in 2015. He was awarded as top 10 finalist in Arqfutura Vertical City Competition 2011, Madrid.

He will share his journey through his academic and practice experiences. Hopefully the story of overcoming his bitter struggles and sweet memories would be an exciting and fresh discussion for all the restless spirit.
