How to think like an architect : Lecture 5 : Endy Subijono

After the incubation we have done in the couple of weeks about how to think like an architect from the perspective of urban design, it’s time now to think it from another perspective that is ethics.
In this lecture. We will learn about architects’ obligation to serve society, a question for techniques to help people creating social house. Do we need participation in architect’s profession or do we mislead the term participation in architecture How the profession established in other countries to address the need of architects. Participation or isolation in architect’s profession.


Endy Subijono teaches Architecture Profession at UPH Architecture. He is also the principal architect of Studio 83, Jakarta. After he had finished his Bachelor Degree at Departemen Arsitektur ITB, Bandung in 1981, he continued his study at Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy, Rutgers University, New Jersey. Coming back to Indonesia, he founded Pusat Dokumentasi Arsitektur (PDA) in 2002, became the head of IAI of periode 2008-2011 and the cmmissioner of Indonesian Pavilion in Venice Biennale in 2014. Presently he is the vice president of Architects Regional Council Asia (ARCASIA).
